Our mission is rooted in a simple belief: every young person deserves a place to express themselves, and build confidence. Skateboarding is more than just a sport—it’s a creative outlet, a form of transportation, and, for many, a lifeline. Yet, countless youth across the country lack access to safe, legal places to skate. This is especially true in our community. We’re working to change that.
Our organization seeks to partner with community leaders, city governments, and volunteers to design and develop sustainable skateparks that serve as vibrant community hubs. These spaces foster physical activity, social connection, and youth empowerment in areas where recreational opportunities are often limited.
Our primary goal for the Las Vegas community is to transform unused or underutilized spaces into opportunities for creativity, and belonging. To that end, we propose developing the city-owned property at 917 Douglas, into a destination skatepark. We already have over 200 signatures on the petition and have the gained support of many local businesses.
We are excited to announce our initiative to build a state-of-the-art skate park in Las Vegas, New Mexico. We are currently partnered with a highly experienced grant writer, a grant evaluator, and professional skatepark designer and builder; Matthew and Sasha Lamstein, and Bobby King of SkateEcosystems, respectively.
With their talents, and pledge of support, and our fundraising efforts combined, all that we are lacking is an Endorsement from the city, such as a promissory agreement, to guarantee the designation of a given piece of property, for the permanent use as a free public park, creating a lasting value for families and youth in our community for generations!
Our idea: transforming the site of the former Elks Lodge at 917 Douglas (now owned by the city) into a vibrant hub for youth and families. Restoring the site into something beautiful and practical, an outdoor recreational space in the heart of the proposed entertainment district of Historic Douglas Plaza.
Because of the site’s proximity to Lincoln Park, Lion’s park, Bridge Street and the Plaza, as well as being just a block away from the River Gallinas Park Trailhead… We can easily foresee a profitable future for all businesses in the Old Towne areas, as a fun and functioning outdoor space is likely to increase traffic and activity in the area. Further, we do believe the easy accessibility for kids and families all across town is paramount to the success of a free public outdoor space!
With an estimated total project cost of $400,000, this will be one of the most impactful community projects our city has seen in years. We are committed to raising the funds necessary for making this dream come true!
